We Fall, We Fail. Here’s How to Come Back Stronger

Posted on March 17, 2021August 22, 2021 by Uma Sthanu

We all make mistakes.  We all get hurt.  We all end up falling behind and messing things up.  You may feel overcome with negativity, but this isn’t a good solution.  That isn’t to say you shouldn’t give yourself time to reflect on and express your emotions, but you should not let these mistakes stop you from coming back stronger.

Learning from mistakes isn’t one of those things that comes from practice or experience, and it is something that everyone can do.  Learning from your mistakes comes from doing this simple thing: Changing your point of view.

Look at your failures as things to look at.  Shift your paradigms that form when you fail from “I will never get this” to “I now know what to work on”.  This can be achieved with the growth mindset.

The growth mindset is a mindset where a core belief is that skills can be developed with hard work and determination. Even if you haven’t gotten somewhere yet, it is the constant belief that you can reach there if you work hard.  This mindset can help you achieve wonders, and help you stay motivated to keep pressing on.

One more thing to always do is to reflect and not ignore your mistake or blame it on someone else. It can be a difficult to self-reflect, but if you do not learn from your mistakes, you are not changing anything, and could repeat the same mistake. Think about what it is that you could have done better, and how you will make a plan to improve.
